Growing Together in Faith

Enabling youth and adults to understand and live their faith more fully.

Our mission is to enable all youth and adults in our parish community to understand and live a rich faith live rooted in Catholic traditions and practices. This includes prepartion of youth and adults for the sacraments and ongoing faith formation and spiritual growth for teens and adults.

Children's Faith Formation

Faith formation helps youth from pre-kindergaraden through young adult to learn about the Catholic faith, including prayers, Sacraments, and liturgy so that they can grow to live their faith fully as adults. Holy Cross's Faith Formation program includes instruction, fun activities, and service opportunities.

  • Faith formation classes for children pre-kindergarten to grade 8 are held at the church, 11:30 AM on the second and fourth Sundays from mid-September to May.
  • Preparation for First Reconciliation and First Holy Eucharist is usually done in the second grade. Confirmation preparartion is for older youth, typically in high school, and includes a retreat.
  • Parents of children in faith formation meet monthly for prayer in the Sanctuary. Check the bulletin and calendar for times and dates.

Vacation Bible School

Each summer, Holy Cross hosts a Vacation Bible School for youth from ages 3 to 10. Details will be posted to the parish website when available.

Get Involved!

Holy Cross is a family-oriented parish, and all are welcome to assist with various activities, from teaching faith formation to helping with Vacation Bible School and our annual Trick or Trunk event around Halloween. Contact Jeanetta Powell Hopkins, director of faith formation, to discuss current opportunities.

Adult Faith Formation and Spirituality

The parish supports ongoing faith formation, spiritual growth and fellowship for our adults - from age 18 on up, with many programs also being open to those beyond the parish. View the Spirituality tab on our website for details about Adult Spiritual Growth opportunities.

Young Adult Ministry

Holy Cross has a very engaged young adult community, for those from ages 18 to 45, who arrange for meetings and events. For more information or to register, contact the director of religious education or call the parish office and ask to speak to Jeanetta Hopkins.
