Living & Growing in our Faith as Adults

Faith formation equips us to live as disciples of Jesus Christ. Growing in faith is a hands-on, life-long experience, and Holy Cross invites you to the journey.

Holy Cross parishioners are encouraged to continue to grow in their faith lives and to enjoy fellowship in the process. This year, a gift subscription is enabling the parish to try out the online FORMED faith formation resource developed by the the Augustine Institute and their partners. 

FORMED provides the very best Catholic content from more than 60 organizations to help parishes, families and individuals explore their faith anywhere, providing  thousands of movies, children’s programs, ebooks, audio, parish programs and studies direct to your browser, mobile or connected device.

Deacon Phil will be using FORMED materials as part of his adult faith formation activities. 

Households are encouraged to check out the FORMED resources that they can access at home, including children's materials that can be used to complement their Faith Formation program at Holy Cross.

Spiritual Resources 

Spiritual Direction | Spiritual Direction has been described as a conversation between friends. The role of the spiritual director is to help individuals to see, accept, and live out God’s will in their lives. 

In addition to our pastor, Fr. Pius, Holy Cross has two certified Spiritual Directors who are available to provide spiritual direction: Deacon Phil Rzewnicki, OFS, and Vera Alston. Send them an email message to start the conversation and begin to discern if this would be a good resource for you.

    2. Search for Holy Cross Catholic by name or Zip Code: 27713. Click on Holy Cross Catholic Church. That will open the FORMED registration page


    3. Register with your name and email address


    4. Check the email account you used when registering for a link to begin using FORMED.

  • Holy Cross Book Club

    The Holy Cross Book Club introduces a range of topics, from the lives of saints to regular people whose lives provide saintly examples and food for thought for those of us in the secular world. Sessions will be via Zoom while COVID-19 restrictions remain in place.   • Triangle Catholics Scripture and Faith Sharing Group

    This group of participants from throughout the Triangle meets at 7 PM every Wednesday, virtually during the pandemic. Coordinator is Holy Cross parishioner Jason Martin.  Click here for details. 

  • Adult Faith Formation through Service

    Our Outreach and Social Justice Ministry offers many opportunities for service projects throughout the year. Each also provides an opportunity to grow in faith, especially if you begin and end your project with a prayer, offering your efforts up to the Lord. 


    Share your ministry experience: Take a few photos and post to our Facebook and Twitter accounts. But first, make sure those in your photo give permission to post to our social accounts. Parental photo permission forms must be signed for children.

  • About FORMED - Online Faith Formation for Adults

    FORMED started as a collaboration between the Augustine Institute, Ignatius Press, and Lighthouse Catholic Media as a way to connect all Catholics, parishes and Catholic organizations with the best Catholic content to help them grow and share their faith. Holy Cross's subscription to FORMED, paid by a donor, is available to all members of the parish.
