Calling Holy Cross Youth
to our 2023 Earth Day Art Contest.

We Can Change the World if We Recycle and Reuse.

Holy Cross invites each of our young parishioners — pre-K through grade 12 to tap their 'inner artist' and create a message for our 2023 Earth Day celebration, which will take place on the weekend of April 22-23


Details

  • Entry can be whatever art form the artist chooses.
  • All entries must contain 100% recycled, recovered, or reused materials with the exception of paints, dyes, adhesives, and canvas.
  • Entries should include no food matter.
  • Entry dimensions: No larger than 24 inches x 36 inches.
  • Entries must be suitable for general public viewing.


Age categories: 

  • Pre-K to Second Grade
  • Third Grade to Fifth Grade
  • Middle School (6 to 8)
  • High School (9 to 12).


Criteria for Judging:

  • Entry must be original artwork
  • Entry must be submitted by the deadline: April 9 | Bring entries to Holy Cross
  • Entry should NOT display names of commercial products, companies or organization
  • Entry should reflect the Earth Day theme: “We Can Change the World If We Recycle and Reuse”


Winner in each age category will receive a gift card for art supplies.

The annual Durham CROP Hunger Walk raises funds that help to fight hunger locally and globally. Participants ask friends and relatives to make a donation in the name of the person walking the path, which takes about two hours. They also can ask their employers to provide corporate support.
